our 1st trip to the Busan Aquarium

Because I didn't start this blog until a few weeks into our Korean adventure, I have yet to blog about all of the amazing memories from our first two weeks in Busan, South Korea.  As this blog serves as a written history of our family's adventures, it's important that I backtrack a bit and do some posts from our first two weeks here.  Enjoy!

Ever since Talton moved to Busan in April (two months ahead of us), I was looking forward to visiting the Busan Aquarium.  There is not a zoo in Busan, and the boys LOVE the zoo in Houston, so I was hoping this replacement "zoo" would suffice for our time here.  Lucky for us it's located on Haeundae Beach where we live.  It's literally a 5 minute walk from our condo.

It is several floors, all underground, and has tons of fish and sharks, among other marine life.  There's an enormous shark tank full of sharks, turtles, stingrays, and fish.  There is also a tunnel you can walk through with the water and marine life from the shark tank surrounding it.  They offer a glass bottom boat ride in this shark tank, and you can even take a dive in with the sharks if you're brave enough (I'm gonna go with NO for me personally).

This penguin was waiting at the door where they get fed.  There are claw marks all over the door at the height of the penguins from where they scratch when they're hungry.  It was funny to see this little guy just waiting on someone to open the door and feed him.

Parker loved loving on all these penguin statues.  Lots of hugs and kisses were given.

How about that drawing on the back of the jellyfish tank (in white)?  It's of a little girl holding on to the jellyfish like it's a kite.  Interesting.
cucumber jellyfish -- I have never heard of these before!

Parker just about threw himself out of my arms to grab onto this humongous stuffed penguin at the gift shop.

Connar often asks to go to the aquarium.  I try to take him once a month, but we haven't been in a couple months because the last time we were there Connar was in his first month of potty training and let's just say he was more interested in looking at the souvenirs in the gift shop than stopping to go to the restroom.  I'm not sure if that gift shop floor has forgiven us quite yet..... ;)
