Happy 7 Year Wedding Anniversary!
Can you believe we've been married for 7 years today??? It's crazy, right?! I just want to shout to the world (in case they don't know us and know how much this is true..) that I LOVE TALTON! I'm sitting back and thinking about everything we've experienced in the past 2,555 days, and I keep coming back to the day you became my husband.
To say that day was amazing doesn't seem like I'm doing it justice. I have so many favorite memories from that entire day, but here are just a few: spending my morning with some of my favorite women, singing "Going to the Chapel" with my bridesmaids while getting ready, you making me wait so you could be silly and spray breath spray in your mouth before the big kiss, me "woo hoo"ing so loudly after we left the room where the ceremony was that everyone heard and was laughing, my grandfather saying the blessing before dinner at our reception, my grandma being alive to help us celebrate despite cancer, dancing our hearts out, and leaving to the twinkles of hundreds of sparklers.
But the memory that stands out and means the most to me is this. As I stood with my dad waiting for each of my bridesmaids to walk down the aisle ahead of me, I had an overwhelming case of butterflies because I knew that all eyes were about to be on me. But then something happened when it was my turn. The doors opened, I saw you at the other end of the aisle, and every single butterfly fluttered away. This amazing sense of calm came over me, and it was literally like nobody else was in the room. Just seeing you made me feel at peace. You were my safe place then and still are today.
Although we worked hard to put together a fantastic and fun wedding, getting married wasn't about all the fancy schmancy stuff to me. And it wasn't about planning a wedding and marrying someone. It was about marrying you. That moment of seeing you only reinforced what I had known for the better part of 6 years at that point. There was no place else I ever wanted to be except with you. You are my home.
I won't even begin to anticipate what the next year of our marriage will hold for us because we both know how crazy life can be, but what I know for a fact is that I want to keep shouting I LOVE TALTON for the world to hear on every November 18 for the rest of my life.
